Are interest rates going down this year? Read this and then tell me your opinion.

The federal reserve has indicated that they will be cutting rates this year as long as inflation continues to come down. Currently, it is down 3.1% from last January. Inflation is tracked through the monthly CPI report. The CPI looks at prices of items & services such as food, energy, shelter, etc. The decrease in crude oil is widely responsible for bringing down overall inflation.

If the price of crude oil increases, then energy costs will increase. If this happens, then the CPI report will show an increase in overall inflation. If that's the case, then the federal reserve most likely won't lower rates.
