Day 8
of Life Insurance Awareness Month! LIAM!!!!!!!
Now, we have discussed 7 topics below.
1. beneficiaries update check
2. Power of Attorney Medical / Financial
3. Pre Burial Prep and family acknowledgement
4. Closing the information gap on the war against Life Insurance
5. Why Life Insurance?
6. What is life Insurance real quick!
7. Types of Life Insurance (Permanent / Whole Life)
8. Term Life

I know these post are a bit lengthy however I want to share what I know in an effort for you to challenge yourself and family into making a decision best for you and your family's future.

And now, .... on to Term Life.

Term life insurance is like renting a house or apartment. You don't own it. You are able to choose how long the term is (typically 10, 15, 20, or 30 years). You make a set amount of payment depending how the agent draws it up and the payment can either creep up each year through the term you agreed with, stay level for the certain amount of term you agreed with, or some even offer 30 years and the option of retrieving every penny you put in for the 30 years, to be given to you at the end of the 30 years. Some will say yes, and others would say, well that is terrible way of saving non interest on money you put in. If that option is not available, your term just ends and you re apply; at an older age and definite higher premiums.

Term is good because the payments are more affordable. They give you the option to invest however you want. Term Life also allows you a greater opportunity toward becoming self-insured.

Side Note: All these points are subjective. If you have read any of my posts, no insurance is cookie cutter. Speaking with a licensed responsible agent looking out for your best interest will be able to tailor a plan for you accordingly to the best of your needs and wants.

So, what Happens to Term Life Insurance at the End of the Term?
It’s nothing special per se, the policy will just expire, and you won’t notice too much. If you reasonably invested along the way, and is basically self insured, good job, however like most, you may not have taken the time to add the extra money towards retirement or hell, in reality, Life Happens. Needs supersedes; wait, lets be honest, Wants overcome needs because we have taught ourselves that the wants are most important for the now, than the later. However if you did what you were supposed to do for investing with discipline then life is grand moving forward.

Real quick Recap of Term Life Insurance Pros and Cons

Pro's
1. Beneficiaries will receive opportunity of larger death payouts
2. Depending on the company, the Term life can be converted to a Whole life Policy
3. Allows for you to use excess money to invest more into other investment tools respectively maximizing deposit amounts into Roth-IRAs, IRAs, EE-bonds, or I-bonds or the likes.

Some Con's
1. Must re-qualify at the end of the term
2. Difficult to qualify if there is a significant health issue
3. Premiums can go up every time you take out a new term
4. Policy accumulates no cash value

Welp, that is about it for Term-Life Insurance. There are so many companies out there that offer it and I haven't even mentioned Riders that you can add on to it. Like Long-Term Disability insurance. A great Agent Broker that is an expert in this is my sister and friend Paulita Holder-Homes. (https://www.facebook.com/paulita.holderholmes) She knows the ends and outs of this crucial benefit and would be willing to provide that type information further.

In any event that is in your life and you are gaining a greater understanding of life insurance, I ask you to stay tuned because I will give you additional information about Universal Life Insurance along with Variable and Index life insurance and how the wealthy use these in efforts to build more money based off the market and have a death benefit in the process all the while using it as a tax benefit.

AND TODAY: Types of Life Insurance

There are 3 types of life insurance; permanent (Whole Life), term, and universal. Nothing is cookie cutter in this world. What benefits one may not be so for another. Today I will talk about Whole Life, with the pros and cons. The next coming days I will talk about the pros and cons of the other types.

Whole life insurance is a product that benefits those most who get it earlier in life. It has a fixed premium cost that accrues cash value that allows you to use for many purposes, such as a source of loans, cash, or to pay policy premiums. The point is, you can use it without all the hassles. Also it has a death benefit that never decreases.

Some Pros
1. Permanent protection that lasts your entire life
2. Premiums never increase
3. The death benefit will not decrease
4. Builds tax-deferred cash value at a guaranteed rate
5. May pay dividends (purchased from a mutual insurer)
6. Cash can be borrowed without a credit check

Some Cons
1. More expensive than term life
2. Best to take out when younger for more affordable premiums
3. Your protection needs may change as your life changes
4. Cash value may grow at a slower pace than some other permanent policies or investments
5. Requires paying higher premiums compared to term

Day 5 of Life Insurance Awareness Month!
Now, we have discussed 4 topics below.
1. beneficiaries update check
2. Power of Attorney Medical / Financial
3. Pre Burial Prep and family acknowledgement
4. Closing the information gap on the war against Life Insurance

Why Life Insurance? Because you need it. Okay that is a bland answer. Not enough to fulfill the why's, however I ask Why not? What prevents most people who do not want life insurance to not get life insurance. Other people making verbal decisions for you that have no understanding or someone heard of a bad experience and chalked it up as a never. Or you heard from some of the better experienced investors who said, don't get life insurance; invest! Life insurance is more than a tool used for an inheritance tool. It's a vehicle that comes with many options including and not limited to, tax benefits now, personal loans, retirement tool etc.. Life Insurance is what it is; about life and how it is used can benefit the living more and your family and other interests afterwards.
Real quick, if I told you that millions of people lose money each year buying and selling stocks. Would you stop investing? If I said most people who purchase investment properties have bad contractors whenever they need help fixing. Would you be deterred from ever purchasing a property? What if you said forget life insurance and just invest $1000 today in whatever stock or fund you wanted and died tomorrow? You comfortable leaving your heirs a total of $1000 approximately? What happens if you die along the way before ever getting to the comfortable amount to leave an heir?

Life insurance is a tool. Use it. I ask again, Why Life insurance? I say, Why Not"
DM me for any questions or comments. I love questions and you are not obligated to purchase. I don't have to sale life insurance, it should sale it's self!

Day 4 of Life Insurance Awareness Month!
Okay we have covered
1. beneficiaries update check
2. Power of Attorney Medical / Financial
3. Pre Burial Prep and family acknowledgement
-- And now --
4. Closing the information gap on the war against Life Insurance
Life insurance is first off one of many tools utilized for wealth creation, family legacy planning, an instrument to leave to benefit a personal cause, etc. However there is so much more. The one thing that everyone misses in information regarding life insurance is often times the information they receive is never by anyone that services life insurance.
Just as many of us most likely would respect the opinion of a licensed surgeon to explain their choice in technique in performing a medical procedure most beneficial for you or a loved one, most should expect the same from a licensed Agent / Broker in delivering the best options for you in gaining life insurance with all the upfront expectations.
If your leg required surgery in order to save it, surely you would not ask an unlicensed ill experienced friend, family member, or neighbor to perform this surgery? You most likely get yourself to an emergency room to get this cared for; because medical doctors are experienced in handling such. The same should go with most other items, use licensed professionals, and a licensed Agent / Broker will go the lengths to responsibly ensure that the life product sold to you was legitimately the best available for you based off the life products they are able to sale to you, based off the current and most up to date accurate information on life insurance.

This was a long one, however the bottom line, find an agent to contact and ask questions. I love questions, so DM me if you have any.

It’s Life Insurance Awareness Month Day 3!!

So we discussed beneficiaries and power of attorney arrangements, so now let’s discuss taking prep work for burial needs.

You don’t need life insurance for this. You can literally call a funeral company you are familiar with and set up an appointment and bring a family member or two. In this meeting you tell them what you will and won’t pay for in reason. Pick your burial plot and even what you want on your burial marker. Or even arrange for cremation (water cremation is an option now as well and cleaner and cheaper). Complete final costs and set up payment arrangements if needed and if you can’t afford all at once. However maybe you don’t want to pay for it that way. Use the meeting to inform the funeral director that you have life insurance that will pay for the arrangements. Once you agree to price and arrangement the funeral home will be able to access the intended funds only from the insurance company with no need from family interaction going through grief. No worries, the insurance company and funeral homes do this active practice often.

Often times we attempt to escape talking about these grim events however it’s a great item to scratch off leaving yourself and family or friends in comfort.

Beneficiaries!

This is Life Insurance Awareness Month.

Have you checked the beneficiaries on your current policy for mistakes or updates?

This is critical. To cut confusion and have family at peace, please update and confirm your beneficiaries with your Life Insurance provider. It is nothing like leaving burial expenses or wealth distribution to someone who is either no longer living or worse; to an ex partner looking for a come up.

DM me for additional questions or concerns. I like questions!
