๐ŸŽ’ Back-to-school season has a way of making the future feel a little closer.

For parents and grandparents, helping fund a childโ€™s education can be an important goal, but it shouldnโ€™t come at the expense of your own financial future.

Good education planning means looking at the full picture:

โ€ข How much should you realistically set aside for college?
โ€ข Which accounts make the most sense?
โ€ข How do education goals fit alongside retirement savings and current cash flow?
โ€ข How can parents and grandparents coordinate their support?
โ€ข What tradeoffs are worth making, and which ones arenโ€™t?

The goal isnโ€™t simply to save as much as possible for education. Itโ€™s to build a plan that supports the people you care about while keeping your other long-term priorities on track.

Real estate can be an incredible wealth-building tool. As your portfolio grows, though, the decisions around it tend to get more complicated.

Cash flow. Taxes. Liquidity. Concentration. Selling. Estate planning. And eventually, what happens to the properties youโ€™ve spent years building.

Weโ€™ve recently published five articles specifically for real estate investors:

The bigger your real estate portfolio becomes, the more important it is to look beyond each individual property and understand how everything works together.

Around age 55 to 60, people begin thinking seriously about retirement.

This is the window where a lot of big questions start to come into focus.

When can I realistically retire?
How much income will I need?
When should I claim Social Security?
How will healthcare fit into the plan?
Which accounts should I draw from first?
How should my investments change as retirement gets closer?
What tax decisions should I be thinking about before I stop working?
Do I have enough flexibility if life doesnโ€™t go exactly as planned?

The years leading up to retirement can be some of the most important planning years of your financial life.

At Craft & Sage Wealth, we help people approaching retirement organize the moving pieces, evaluate their options, and build a plan for the next chapter.

Retirement planning isnโ€™t just about reaching a certain age or account balance. Itโ€™s about understanding what your money needs to do for you, how the pieces fit together, and what decisions need to be made before you get there.

If retirement is starting to feel closer, now is a good time to start asking the bigger questions.

Medicare decisions can be confusing, and they matter for clients at every level of wealth.

Whether someone has a modest retirement nest egg or a more complex financial picture, healthcare costs, coverage choices, prescription needs, and Medicare supplement options can all have a meaningful impact on their retirement plan.

Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re excited to share a new relationship with Lonnie Dorland and his team at NiceMedicare, who help individuals and families navigate Medicare supplement coverage and related decisions.

This is an important resource for many of our clients, especially those approaching retirement, already enrolled in Medicare, or helping a parent or loved one think through their options.

Weโ€™re also glad to have a personal connection to the team through Chris Wilt, husband of our advisor Andrea Wilt.

At Craft & Sage Wealth, we believe thoughtful financial planning often includes knowing when to bring the right professionals into the conversation. Medicare is one of those areas where guidance can make a real difference.

If youโ€™re interested in learning more, weโ€™d be happy to connect you with Lonnie and his team.

The dog days of summer are a great time to enjoy the life youโ€™ve worked hard to build.

For many Retirees, that may mean more time with family, trips with grandkids, afternoons at the lake, weekends at a summer home, or simply slowing down and enjoying a different pace.

Itโ€™s also a good time to pause and look ahead.

The 2nd half of the year can bring important planning decisions, especially for retirees who are managing income from multiple sources, investment accounts, Social Security, pensions, rental income, charitable giving, or required distributions.

A mid-year review can help answer questions like:

โ€ข Is my income plan still on track?
โ€ข Do I need to adjust withdrawals before year-end?
โ€ข Are there tax planning opportunities to review?
โ€ข Is my cash reserve where it needs to be?
โ€ข Have my estate, insurance, or legacy goals changed?
โ€ข Are upcoming travel, family, or home expenses accounted for?

At Craft & Sage Wealth, we help retirees connect their financial plan to the life they want to enjoy, not just the accounts theyโ€™ve accumulated.

Summer should be enjoyed. A thoughtful plan can help make sure the rest of the year is enjoyed with fewer surprises.

If you're not already working with Craft & Sage, we offer a complimentary 2nd opinion on your financial plan.

Are you a HENRY?

That stands for High Earner, Not Rich Yet, and it describes a lot of professionals who are doing well on paper but still feel like their financial life hasnโ€™t fully caught up to their income.

You may have a strong salary, growing career opportunities, equity compensation, bonuses, business income, or multiple benefits to manage.

But higher income can also come with more moving parts:

โ€ข Bigger tax decisions
โ€ข Lifestyle creep
โ€ข Competing savings goals
โ€ข Stock options or equity compensation
โ€ข Student loans or other debt
โ€ข Retirement plan choices
โ€ข Insurance needs
โ€ข A growing family
โ€ข Real estate decisions
โ€ข Less time to manage it all

For high-earning professionals, the goal isnโ€™t just to make more. Itโ€™s to turn income into lasting wealth.

At Craft & Sage Wealth, we help high earners organize their financial picture, make more intentional decisions, and build a plan that connects todayโ€™s opportunities with tomorrowโ€™s goals.

If your income has grown but your financial plan hasnโ€™t kept pace, it may be time for a deeper conversation.
