Senior Center Program

The Platte County Senior Fund is pleased to offer a new Senior Center Program for Platte County residents ages 60 and older.

The Senior Center provides opportunities for older adults to come together twice each week to enjoy engaging programs, lifelong learning, recreational activities, and meaningful social connections. Participants also enjoy a nutritious meal during each gathering, creating additional opportunities to connect with others in a welcoming environment.

Designed to promote healthy aging and reduce social isolation, the program encourages participants to build friendships, explore new interests, stay active, and remain engaged in their community. The Senior Center Program supports the health, well-being, and independence of older adults throughout Platte County.

The number one call I receive from clients isn't about Medicare plans, it's about the constant stream of phone calls claiming there are "new Medicare benefits" or "important changes" to their coverage.

Please don't fall prey to these scam tactics.

Remember, it is against CMS (Medicare) rules for someone to contact you about Medicare unless you have given them permission to do so.

If you receive one of these calls:
• Hang up.
• Don't confirm your identity, even if they ask if "you're you" by name.
• Never provide your Medicare number or personal information.

Your best protection is to work with a trusted Medicare advisor you know and trust, not someone who calls you out of the blue.

Stay safe, and feel free to share this reminder with someone who could benefit from it.

Hello friends!! As I begin my annual Medicare certifications, it hit me that this will be my 11th Annual Enrollment Period!

I first started helping my partner, Ruth, in 2016 and became a licensed insurance agent in 2018. What started as a partnership has grown into something we're incredibly proud of.

In 2021, we formed our LLC, RJ Premier Solutions, doing business as Medicare Solutions, with one simple commitment: to help our clients make informed decisions by providing accurate, honest guidance.

As you know, Medicare is constantly changing, and staying current isn't optional; it's the most important part of serving our clients well. That's why each year we complete extensive certifications and training before Annual Enrollment begins.

This year, we've also rebranded to RJ Premier Benefit Advisors to stay current with compliance guidelines regarding the use of the word "Medicare" in business names.

While our name has changed, our commitment hasn't.

I was honored to be invited to attend the Senior Market Sales (SMS) Sales Force Conference in Omaha this week.

For three days, I was immersed in conversations focused on Medicare, financial wellness, and the evolving needs of seniors. I had the opportunity to hear industry leaders discuss the current state of Medicare, emerging trends, and how innovations such as AI may shape the future of healthcare and client service.

What impressed me most is that every presenter, no matter what arm of Health and Wealth they represented, was actively engaged in advocacy. Not only for the brokers they support, but for Medicare beneficiaries across the country. As our industry continues to evolve, strong advocacy and education are more important than ever.

I left the conference with new insights and renewed inspiration. My goal has always been to provide my clients with a holistic approach to their health and financial well-being as they age, and this experience reinforced that commitment.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and continue bringing valuable resources and guidance to the people I serve.
