Food for Thought ~

A few years ago, at a Medicare conference, a company gave a presentation about AI call centers that could enroll someone into a drug plan without a human ever being involved. At the time, it felt futuristic. Now it's very real.
And while I understand the appeal of efficiency, I keep coming back to the bigger picture that many may not be seeing:
What happens when we remove human connection from systems serving an aging population?
Many of my Medicare clients aren’t just looking for information. They’re looking for trust. They want someone who knows their doctors, understands their medications, remembers their fears, and can help them navigate complicated decisions with compassion and patience.
AI can process data.
But it cannot replace genuine human care and relationships.

I also find myself thinking about the bigger economic picture. Medicare and Social Security are already under strain, with the number of people relying on Medicare growing faster than the workforce supporting it.
As more jobs become automated, it raises important questions about sustainability and how these systems will continue to be supported long-term.
AI does not pay Social Security and Medicare Taxes.

This isn’t anti-technology. AI will absolutely have an important place in the future.
I just hope we continue asking thoughtful questions about what we may be gaining in efficiency and what we may be losing in humanity.

Hello friends,

You may have noticed I recently updated the name of my business page to Jeannine Lindstrom – Insurance Broker, and I’ve received a few messages asking about the change.

I want to reassure you that nothing has changed in how I serve you. I’m still here to help you navigate the Medicare process, just as I always have.

The update simply reflects industry changes. With evolving CMS guidelines regarding the use of the word “Medicare,” I’ve chosen to stay ahead by making a small adjustment to my page name.

While the name has changed, my commitment to you has not.

Always check your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) for errors. Make sure that you (and Medicare) weren’t billed for anything you didn’t get. If you see a charge that may be wrong, call us at 1-800-MEDICARE or file a complaint online at https://go.medicare.gov/3NGXYXD.

I had the privilege of spending a day in Omaha with the experts in all things senior planning, SMS. SMS is my FMO and provides me with all the resources I need to run my business as an independent insurance agent, from compliance and marketing to contracting, and access to all the products available to help seniors plan for health and wealth in retirement.
We do our best to stay on top of all things Medicare, but it literally changes daily, so having a partner along with the right tools and training is invaluable. I spent a day drinking from the fire hose of knowledge on Medicare, Long Term Care, Life, and Annuities. I look forward to taking this information and expanding my understanding.

The FACTS about grocery cards for seniors...
I have lost track of the number of calls I receive from seniors asking about the advertised free grocery cards for seniors. To prevent you or someone you love from being scammed, here are the facts:

Ads claiming hundreds or thousands of dollars for groceries, often appearing on social media, are almost certainly scams. Clickbait to get you to call or click on a link. DO NOT CALL or CLICK

Never provide Social Security numbers, Medicare numbers, or financial information to someone calling about a "free" card.

Medicare does not directly offer these cards. There are some Medicare Advantage Plans that may offer a card that can be used for healthy food, ONLY IF YOU QUALIFY due to being on Medicare AND Medicaid (for low income) or you have a qualifying condition such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes. The amounts are nowhere near $ 3,000 per year, and you will usually sacrifice other important benefits for $40 / month.

It is always best to call your insurance agent or your Medicare Advantage plan to confirm your eligibility. DO NOT CALL A RANDOM NUMBER OR CLICK A LINK.
