This summer we welcomed 4 interns from the Kansas City area for an 8-week internship experience. Over the last few months, they showed up each day with the willingness to learn, be collaborative, and even taught our team a thing or two along the way!

We are incredibly grateful for all of their hard work and are so glad they chose us for their internship this summer. We wish them well as they return back to school and are excited to see where they go from here! 💙

Intern Takeover 🌟🎓

Hi, I’m Bryce Unruh, a Business Administration student at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, currently interning with Virtus Insurance. As a rising senior, I’m driven by my passion for intentional leadership and practical learning. This summer, I’ve seized the opportunity to dive into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial insurance environment where innovation, collaboration, and meaningful impact are core to everything we do.

Throughout June and July, I’ve been fully immersed: from foundational training, rotating through vertical specializations, and supporting projects that drive client success. I have assisted in policy renewals, annual compliance notices, and editing marketing materials. Shadowing real leaders, participating in development programs, and mentorship sessions has given me concrete insight into how Virtus blends creative problem-solving with tech-driven efficiency.

Most notably, I’ve had the privilege to connect the Virtus team with my Chick‑fil‑A Operator in a special CFA Leadership session to share the intentional behind-the-scenes strategies that drive Chick‑fil‑A’s standout service: from core values and recruitment to performance metrics and feedback loops. By bridging the gap between industry-leading customer service practices and the Virtus culture, we reinforced how thoughtful, value-driven systems can elevate client experiences across any sector.

I have benefited immensely from the mentorship, training, and inclusive culture at Virtus Insurance this summer. From day one, I’ve been intentionally integrated into meaningful work. This blend of hands-on responsibility and supportive coaching has been pivotal in building my skills and confidence as I prepare for a career in business.

Intern Takeover 🎓🌟

Hi, I’m Tyler Sardelli, a 2025 summer intern at Virtus. I’m currently a rising senior at Arkansas Tech University, where I study Business Data Analytics.
So far, my experience at Virtus has been incredibly valuable — it’s given me a solid foundation of real-world skills I know I’ll carry into my future career. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Colorado State University on a variety of insurance-related projects. This included reviewing multiple proposals submitted to the Research Foundation and evaluating which carrier offered the most effective coverage.

One of the most unique projects I worked on involved the PBR rodeo event held at CSU’s football stadium. I helped draft a proposal covering non-appearance and event liability — it was exciting to be part of something so dynamic and high-profile.
What I’ve appreciated most at Virtus is the team environment.

Everyone in the office brings a positive energy and takes pride in their work, while still keeping things collaborative and fun. That culture has really stood out to me — and it’s something that’s made a lasting impression.

🚀🎓🌟 Intern Takeover

My name is Blake Sowden and I am a summer intern in the finance department at Virtus. I am going to be a senior at Miami University in Ohio studying Finance.

I have enjoyed my time at Virtus so far, getting to work on a variety of projects from a rodeo proposal to organizing data spreadsheets for the accounting department. I have also been able to sit in on a variety of meetings, which has been great real-world experience.

My favorite part of working here is definitely the people. It is a great environment and the perfect balance between hard work and office laughs.
