Dear Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City. After 70-plus wonderful years, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that the Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City must close our doors as of December 31, 2025. Despite our best efforts to keep PPAGKC active, we could not contend with larger market forces affecting much of the photography industry.
We sincerely appreciate the support of our incredible members and the industry suppliers throughout this journey. A big thanks to our gracious hosts over the last few years of our monthly meetings: H&H Color Lab, with Amy Drum at the helm; Mary Wiener, our lab liaison; and many other support staff. We trust they will continue to provide you with a welcoming and supportive place to discover the best creative assets and inspiration, with continual support from many of our local state associations and the Professional Photographers of America.
The purpose of the Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City was education, creating a thriving community for professional photographers by offering education, resources, and industry standards, helping members build profitable, sustainable businesses, protect their work (copyright), and establish and uphold professional standards. It serves as a guide and advocate, providing tools, networking, and legal support in a changing industry. Thank you for being a vital part of our story. We will miss you all.
-I want to personally thank the board members of the Professional Photographers Association of Greater Kansas City, Rodney Loesch, David Alexander, Suzanne Siler, and my family.
Thomas Krekow, President, PPAGKC
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to you all.
