If my kid’s first words aren’t “refinance” or “amortization,” I’m going to have some questions about what we’ve even been doing around here.

He’s already become a bit of a celebrity at the office. Clients walk in ready to talk numbers, rates, and timelines, and within about 30 seconds they’re completely sidetracked.

Do I get anything accomplished when he’s around? Let’s just say productivity takes a noticeable dip.

Do clients love him more than their incredibly low interest rates? Honestly … it’s close, and I don’t blame them.

Occupational hazard, I guess. But if this is the tradeoff, I’ll take it every time.

My wife took our main man to the office the other day. What should have been a quiet morning suddenly turned into a whirlwind of meetings, including our friend Laura Lee Jones who got her baby fix.

Turns out, when you have a chubby baby in the office, everyone wants to meet with you. Instant networking. Instant charm. Instant celebrity.

Impressive. I should remember that the next time I go to a mortgage closing … or maybe not.
