If there is advice I can offer, it would be in several facets.

#1 - Be loyal toward those you believe in, and those who believe in you.

#2 - be prepared to be let down by those we who are loyal to you. Inevitably, you’ll be let down. Don’t take it so personal.

#3 - Network. Get out of your comfort zone and meet people. I used to hate the saying, “It’s who you know”, yet it’s 100% true! People open doors for you, but you have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone.

I'm not where I want to be, but I'm not where I used to be. The thing I love about Orangetheory Fitness Kansas City-Parkvilles is the social aspect. The coaches and members hold each other accountable, and it's a great place to network. I recently participated in the 'Transformation Challenge,' which lowered my weight by 13 pounds and my body fat percentage by 5%. It's my experience that if we suffer together, we excel together.

The workings of God are enigmatic. Since leaving law enforcement, I've grappled with the uncertainty of whether I'm on the correct career path. Today, I reached out to my former police partner, who has struggled with the same thing. He reminded me to place my trust in Faith. When you have Faith, intricacies need not be understood; everything will be fine.
