If you are without power, have a plan for an extended, multiple day outage. Significant damage is still being assessed, and individual restoration times are not available.

Stay at least 35 feet away and call 913-573-9522. Never approach or touch a downed line.
Some of the most significant damage is in Midtown and across the northern portion of BPU's service territory, where fallen trees, debris and other hazards are limiting access and slowing damage assessments.
BPU crews are responding, and mutual aid crews will assist with restoration efforts. Please plan now if you are without power, especially for medications, medical equipment, refrigeration, and other essential needs.
Public and crew safety remains our highest priority.
• Stay at least 35 feet away from downed power lines and anything they may be touching.
• Treat every downed line as energized.
• Call 911 for an immediate public safety hazard involving a downed power line.
• Report outages and downed lines to BPU at (913) 573-9522.
• Avoid damaged areas and streets blocked by emergency responders or work crews.
• Check on neighbors, family members, and others who may need assistance.
We know extended outages are difficult and you are searching for updates and answers. We will continue providing updates as assessments progress.
