UNHOOK THE GARDEN HOSE: FIRST INCOMING FREEZE!

Bring in the garden hose, put the frost scrapers in the car and be ready for the official end of the growing season — our first heavy frost and freeze of the season is almost here! Many in the Great Lakes are behind schedule for their first freeze but that will change Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. This will be the coldest shot of air this season.

Spots right up against or very close to the lakes will still take a while before their first heavy frost or freeze. A pattern shift in early November promises to bring even colder weather back. The lake effect machine may turn on for the first time then. Don't forget to disconnect those garden hoses outside before it's too late!
