September 26th, 2019.

The Founders have set out on an adventure of peak excitement. On this date they will engage the mighty river as it does their flowing spirit in search of the ever elusive catch of salmon in fall. In a mindlessly fortuitous pattern the catch have still chose to run up stream as late as this date. Not common by any means in the pleasant peninsula However the big lake has kept an average temp of above 60 until now.. In any fashion however it will be a shoulder brodieing good time in the event of a decent haul from the river. First signs of smoke accompanied by the all encompassing smell of chard salmon flesh give way to the Kaleva shootout. If the graces from elsewhere seem not to exist in this action we call upon the recent CHAMP and his doling of drink in the royal form of a most welcomed crown in the size of an ounce or more chilled to perfection.

To all those whom have traveled from near and far we wish safe passage to the rural temple that is the home of the Kaleva Shootout . May the Hidden Drive find you well.

91st annual Kaleva Fish Fry was a massive success. We raised $27,000 for local charities! Thanks to the Kaleva Shootout and the Kaleva Chamber of Commerce, as well as our corporate sponsors back in Finland- Fiskars, Bank of Åland, and Nokia. Congratulations to Logan Nemith for biggest Steelhead (14 pounds) and to Les Sharp for the catching and releasing (12) Steelhead. Päästä sinne! (GET OUT THERE!)
