Delton, Mich. – Thornapple Valley Church Delton was recently awarded a $2,000 grant to fight food insecurity in the community by the Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund (ACF). Grant funds will be used to purchase shelf stable breakfast, lunch and dinner items for students in the Delton community through the Hand2Hand program.
Thornapple Valley Church Delton is one of 12 organizations throughout the state to receive a Feeding the Future Grant from the ACF in April. Organizations are nominated by a local Farm Bureau Insurance agent and selected by a committee of ACF donors based on the need of the organization, population being served, and overall goal of the program.

Farm Bureau Insurance agent Angela Shannon nominated Thornapple Valley Church Delton for the grant and as a Delton resident, is proud to come alongside the church and support their hunger-relief efforts. As Shannon says, “Due to the need of 117 students, additional funds will help provide additional food in this rural community.”
