The year was 1950. Allstate sales manager Davis W. Ellis, Sr.’s daughter was seriously ill. At the hospital, a doctor reassured Davis by telling him that she “was in good hands” 🥹

Days later, while brainstorming new slogans for Allstate, he remembered the comfort and trust the words brought him. The rest is history.

“You’re in Good Hands with Allstate” first appeared in magazines on Sept. 23, 1950 💙
