Ribbon cutting ceremony for The Town of Johnston's Fine Arts Center.

Come join in this soft opening event at 11:00 AM today on Calhoun Street. The location is at the downtown cotton warehouse located next to the town parking lot.

Also, coming soon is the grand opening of the Fine Arts Center on September 19th (10 am - 4 pm) & 20th (1 pm - 4 pm). There will be various artists from the surrounding areas displaying their artistic talents. Contact Tonya Guy at the Johnston Genealogical Center if you would like to participate or for more information about this event.

Local artists Lorenzo Williams(paintings) and Justin Guy(potter) will be participating in the grand opening, showcasing their talented works of art at the September grand opening.

🏈 The 2026 A-Town Kickoff Classic is coming up next week - Thursday, August 6th!

Due to renovations at Hite-Nickles Stadium, this year’s Classic will be held at Emerald High School. A huge thank you to the Emerald Athletic Department for helping us make this change to ensure the safety and best possible experience for all participating athletes!

🎟️ Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through GoFan or with cash at the gate. Only SCHSL passes will be accepted.
