This is for individuals with health directly through the marketplace or directly with Blue Cross!!
Open enrollment starts Nov. 1 — here’s what’s in your 2027 BlueCross plan, and the one thing that’s leaving it.
The good stuff first: every 2027 BCBST individual plan includes pediatric vision, $0 virtual care through Teladoc (even on HSA-eligible plans), a member rewards program with up to $200 in gift cards, set copays for primary care, behavioral health and specialists, and your choice of Blue Network E or S anywhere in the state.
Every Bronze plan is HSA-eligible — just remember you have to open the HSA yourself with a bank or financial institution.
Now the change: Pediatric dental is being removed from BCBST medical plans for 2027 — both on and off the Marketplace. Separating medical and dental has become standard practice and helps keep premiums affordable, but it means children’s dental is no longer automatic.
What to do about it:
→ On-Marketplace members can enroll in stand-alone dental coverage for all ages. Sign up at HealthCare.gov during open enrollment, or call BlueCross at 888-423-9489 to enroll and ask how these plans differ from your current coverage.
→ Off-Marketplace members with a dependent under 19 will need an Exchange-certified stand-alone dental plan to meet the Essential Health Benefits requirements of the ACA. Not every dental plan qualifies — check before you enroll.
→ On Bronze 17 and Silver 29, adult dental stays embedded in the medical plan. Pediatric dental does not.
→ Any dental plan is a separate monthly premium on top of your medical premium, and costs and benefits vary — compare carefully.
Starting Nov. 1, log in to HealthCare.gov to update your financial information, review your 2027 premium, and explore lower-cost options. Report your household size and income accurately — underestimate it and you’ll repay the excess premium tax credit at tax time.
