Hurricane Helene is gaining speed and heading toward Atlanta. During the next few days, you may experience several weather-related emergencies, including leaks, fallen trees, flooding, roof issues, and more. Although a lot of this unfortunate damage can't be prevented, there are a few things you can do to help prepare:

* Ensure that you and your family are in a safe location! Property can always be replaced after the storm.

* Make sure all windows and doors are sealed and secure. Secure any loose outdoor items, furniture and trash cans.

* Contact and place your preferred restoration contractor or tree serve vendor on standby.

* If you live in a community that covers the exterior maintenance and repairs, please contact the HOA/property managers to report any damages
after the storm passes and when it is safe to go outside.

* Locate and review your insurance policy documents in your emails or hardcopies that may have been mailed to you and learn about your out-of-pocket deductible amountbefore making a claim.
