Nationwide, the Insurance Research Council found that in 2023, 15.4% of drivers—more than one in seven—were uninsured.
In a serious accident, one ER visit, surgery, and a newer vehicle can blow past those limits fast, leaving your assets and future income exposed. Here’s the catch: you can have “full coverage” (comprehensive and collision on your car) and still only carry state minimum liability limits, which means your vehicle is better protected than your assets.
