When the Alabama Farmers Federation was formed in 1921, it became the unified voice of farmers in our state. Later, in 1946, Federation leaders founded what would be known today as Alfa Insurance to provide fire protection for rural residents. Since then, we have grown into a top-rated insurance company offering a wide variety of insurance products.

We at the Knighton-Hayes agency are thankful for our farmers, not only because of the tradition associated with the founding of this company, but also because of the enormous impact these men, women, and families have made on our nation as a whole.

Did you know that Chad and Luke once became literal superheroes?

That’s right. A few years back, Chad and Luke had sold so much insurance that the city asked them to become superheroes to help fight crime and assist the citizens in any way possible. Chad was Captain ALFA, while Luke became ALFAMAN.

When asked about the need to help their city, Chad said, “Well, it’s our duty, right?” Luke added, “It’s just who we are - at the core.”

Q&A with Luke Knighton of Knighton-Hayes Agency

1. What is your favorite thing about living in Walker County?

We have the opportunity to raise our family in a small town where if you don't know someone, you probably know their momma 'n 'em. It's a great place to raise your family amongst neighbors who will wave and say "hello" when you pass by.

2. What local organizations, charities, or churches are you invested in?

I am a deacon & Sunday school teacher at Cordova First Baptist. I am also a member of the economic vitality team for Jasper Main Street.

3. What do you like most about being in the insurance business?

The opportunity to celebrate people's successes. Bought your first car? GREAT! Got married? WONDERFUL! Bought a new house? AWESOME!

4. You recently moved your office to downtown Jasper. What do you like most about being downtown?

Downtown is bustling with life and growth. It's exciting to see a group of people focused on making something great. We love the opportunity to be a small contributor to that effort and hope to expand on that effort in the future.

5. What are you looking forward to most this fall and winter?

I am loving watching my kids experience the magic and wonder of the changing seasons. My girls are learning about autumn and how God designed nature to change throughout the year. I am excited for the celebrations of family and gratitude in November and the birth of our savior, the messiah, Jesus Christ, in December.

NOTICE: Temporary Road Closures

JASPER HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE - The Jasper High School Homecoming parade will take place Friday afternoon, September 18. Temporary road closures will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m., with the parade scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Expect brief road closures at various points along the parade route between approximately 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to accommodate the event. The parade route will remain the same as in previous years. GO VIKINGS!
