Last night presented Nicole Colvin of Jasper ISD with a much-deserved nomination for LifeChanger of the Year ! Mrs. Colvin serves as the Director for DETCCA which includes Jasper ISD, Burkeville ISD, Kirbyville ISD, Newton ISD, Spurger ISD, & Woodville ISD. Mrs. Colvin has made an impact on the lives of students, their families, the DETCCA school districts, Jasper ISD, and the community of Jasper, TX. She exemplifies excellence, leadership, a positive influence, and a heart for students beyond the classroom. She is making a difference in the lives of students by giving them a chance to graduate Lamar Technical Institute PRIOR to them even walking at their own High School graduation ceremony! Talk about changing lives! Under her leadership, she has secured more than $1.5 million in grants. She has started a foundation in honor of her late father, Ed Few, that helps cover some of the dual credit costs for students to succeed when families cannot afford the costs.
