I've had a goal for a future version of me to have a beautiful flower & food garden 🌻

& then this May I realized how ridiculous it was that I was waiting for a future version of me & not the version now?

I thought I needed to wait until I could do it PERFECTLY..
➑️ the perfect house & piece of land
➑️ the perfect garden space & layout
➑️ the perfect plan

My head kept saying "Someday, when I can really do it right, I'll start."

Until I finally had the clarity of knowing that things don't need to be perfect, I just need to move & begin. So, I did it. I just started, not perfectly, not ideally, not all at once & in doing that, I took a step forward & gave myself a chance to learn & grow on it.

🌟 Most people do the same with their finances..

We wait..
➑️ Wait until we have more money
➑️ Wait until debt is paid off
➑️ Wait until we buy the forever home
➑️ Wait until the kids go to college

Don't wait until you can do it PERFECTLY because beginning gives you something waiting never does.. Information

A financial plan isn't someting you create once & never touch again. Life changes. Income changes. Goals change. Priorities change.

You start where you are, take the next right step, learn along the way, & build from there. Your future doesn't need you to have everything figured out today..

So, if you've felt held back from starting your financial plan, let's talk about just what the next step is to take & find movement together.

It's one flower at a time, not the whole garden 🌻

One of the common thoughts in financial planning is thinking one account, one tool, or one insurance product is going to be the answer to everything you want/need.

That's like having a toolbox with only a hammer..
➑️ Could you get some things done? Sure.

But eventually, you're going to realize it probably isn't the most ideal tool for every job.

Or like having a golf bag with only a driver..
Or having a starting 5 of basketball players made up of only point guards with the exact same skill set..
➑️ Could you make it work & play a round of golf or play a full basketball game & get by? Sure.

When talking to clients, most of them aren't just trying to get by.
Wouldn't it be better to have a complete picture where each piece has a specific purpose?

🌟 A toolbox full of tools designed for different jobs
🌟 A golf bag full of clubs, each with a role depending on the shot
🌟 A basketball team where each player brings different skill set & knows her job ultimately making the entire team stronger

Your financial plan should work the same way.

It's not about finding the ONE piece that does everything. It's about building a full strategy where each piece does what it's desgined to do. & all the pieces then work together toward the bigger picture.

The goal is to make sure you have the right tools wheen you need them.

If you're wondering what pieces you currently have in your financial plan & if there are other pieces that would make the picture stronger, let's talk about it!

Out of office today & a quick change of pace..

Today's morning agenda:
➑️ Running around getting signatures on documents from clients
➑️ Meeting with business owner who's going through exciting changes
➑️ Mandatory coffee stop
➑️ Taking advantage of my mom's house on the drive back before I have a late evening at the office to work outside with the pups

Thoughts for today that you didn't ask for..
✍ If signing paperwork counted as a workout, I'd be crushing my fitness goals
πŸ‘€ Cash flow solves more problems than people realize
🧒 As a business owner, you naturally wear a lot of hats but I'm happy to wear the "taking care of your financial plan" hat
β˜• There should be a tax deduction for good coffee..
🀝 Connecting people to each other is probably one of the most kind things we can do.. life changing
πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Why would I, as a curly headed girl, think I could wear my hair down in this humidity

The World Cup has everyone talking red cards..

So, here's my take on what would get sent off the field if Financial Planning had referees ⚽ πŸŸ₯

"My friend told me what he does so I just do the same thing for my finances."

This is common to hear from clients when I ask how they made decisions on what they're currently doing for their plan.

& everytime, I think about how this relates to other fields..

➑️ Would you follow the same medical advise as your friend without considering your own health history?
➑️ Would you do the same workout plan as someone training for a marathon if you're goal is builing muscle?
➑️ Would you use the same glasses prescription at the eye doctor as the person before you?

Yet, when it come to finances, there's a different initial mindset that what worked for others might be the right answer for you as well.

The reality is that financial decisions & building a plan is deeply personal..
➑️ Your income & how much money flows in
➑️ Your family situation
➑️ Your employee benefits
➑️ Your goals & what's important to you
➑️ Your timeline & working career
➑️ Your emotional relationship to money

& so many other factors that come into play making financial planning not as universal as people may think.

The plan that makes perfect sense to your coworker, neighbor, sibling, or best friend could be completely misaligned with what you actually want.

✨ It's almost like trying to force a puzzle piece in a puzzle that it may not even belong in?

This is a big reason why clients work with me, to begin sorting out what's important to them & how to piece together their plan to make sure it aligns for them.

One of the things I value most with every year that passes in this career is how much more I've leaned into showing up in this role in a way that feels genuine to me.

Financial planning is deeply personal, & I never take lightly the trust placed in me or the impact these decisions have in their lives. Every year brings more experience, continued learning, intentional growth, & a deeper understanding of who I am in this role & how I serve my people best.

Just like any professsion, the right fit matters. Not every approach connects with everyone & it shouldn't. So here it is, an update on what I do, how I approach it, & how I aim to serve & carry myself through it.

If you connect with it, great. I'd genuinely love to talk!

I like to think of your financial world like a puzzle.

There are a lot of pieces that come together to create the bigger picture of your life.

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that a "Financial Plan" is just one piece of the puzzle. In reality, many people simply don't know what pieces they already have, or what may be missing.

Before you can confidently move forward, we first see what the full puzzle looks like.

That's why my first meeting with clients is really about asking questions & getting to know your full picture first..

➑️ What pieces do you already have in place?
➑️ Are they working together the way they should?
➑️ Are there gaps that could make a big difference in your goals?

The goal is to help you put pieces together in a way that feels clear, connected, & meaningful to you.

Let's talk about it.

You don't need to be perfect with your money to make real progress..

But you do need to start paying attention to what's quietly working against you.

A lot of people think financial improvement means a complete overhaul.. strict bugets (yuck, I hate that word), cutting everything fun (no thanks), & doing it all "right" (what does right even mean?)

That's not realistic, & it's not always necessary. Progress usually starts much simpler..
πŸ‘‰ Getting clear on where your money is actually going
πŸ‘‰ Catching small habits that add up
πŸ‘‰ Creating your structure to be strong & durable & resilient

Like most other things, it's about awareness & consistency. Because when your cash flow has structure, everything feels different.
🌟 Less stress
🌟 More control
🌟 Better decisions without overthinking

You don't need perfect. You just need a system that leaks less than it did yesterday. Start there. The rest builds naturally with you.
