For everyone with United Health Care! I just received this email in relation to their Renew Active Fitness benefit.

Renew Active, a Medicare fitness program for body and mind

The UnitedHealthcare fitness benefit offers free membership to participating fitness locations, along with online exercises and activities to support brain health. The benefit features:
• National network: Access to a large national network of gyms and fitness locations.
• On-demand workouts: Thousands of on-demand workout videos and live streaming fitness classes, along with customizable workout builders.
• Brain health program: An online program offering content about brain health, with exclusive content for Renew Active members, from AARP® Staying Sharp®.
• And more!

As part of our ongoing evaluation to ensure the programs that provide the most value, access and options to our members are available, our 2025 network is designed as such:
• Medicare Advantage plans include access to our core gym and fitness location network and may include Premium Locations depending on plan.
• Insured members enrolled in an AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan from UnitedHealthcare® continue to have access to all premium gyms within the network, in states where Renew Active is available.

Please note, in 2025, Orangetheory Fitness, The Exercise Coach, Club Pilates, CycleBar, StretchLab, Rumble, PureBarre and YogaSix will no longer be in the fitness network for Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Group Medicare members. Members can use these locations throughout the remainder of 2024. UnitedHealthcare continues to offer a large national network of fitness locations including gyms like 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Planet Fitness and others.

Employer Group Plan members with Renew Active will continue to have access to premium locations in 2025 outside of the impact to Orangetheory Fitness, The Exercise Coach, Club Pilates, CycleBar, StretchLab, Rumble, PureBarre and YogaSix.

Expect to see some changes and benefit reductions to some Medicare Advantage plans in 2026. CMS just released a statement that they are terminating their Value Based Insurance Design which provided funding for supplemental benefits and prescriptions.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is terminating the Medicare Advantage (MA) Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) model at the end of 2025 due to the model’s substantial and unmitigable costs to the Medicare Trust Funds.
