Joseph Spencer, RICP - First Command District Advisor Coaching those who serve in their pursuit of financial security. He has a desire to support and help members of the military community.

As a financial advisor with First Command, Joseph has a passion to help people define and pursue their goals. He coaches professionals and families seeking financial security, in addition to mentoring members of the military. One of the most rewarding aspects of his career is the ability to help the military. He has had the unique opportunity to serve as a United States Marine for more than 20 years, and served in the Camp Lejeune area for more than 13 of those years. Joseph is a member of an Advisor force who is dedicated to working with clients, both active-duty military and civilian professionals. These client families are located in and around the North Carolina communities of Jacksonville, Wilmington and include Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Stations New River and Cherry Point. At First Command, more than 70% of the Financial Advisor force are veterans. We provide all training and support for those desiring a satisfying and worthwhile career spent helping others. First Command was honored to sponsor the 2026 Camp Lejeune Spouse Summit, an event focused on educating, connecting, and empowering military spouses.

As we looked around the event, we couldn't help but feel proud of our own team. Several military spouses attended, including one of our Financial Advisors, our Marketing Coordinator, members of our Administrative Team, and the spouse of one of our advisors. It was a pleasure partnering with the Camp Lejeune Spouse Club for an evening of w**e tasting, fellowship, and community building.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for spouses to connect, relax, and enjoy an educational w**e experience while strengthening relationships within the military community. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.

A warm welcome to Mary as she joins the Jacksonville team!

We recently had the opportunity to gather and celebrate Mary's return from Home Office, sharing encouragement, experiences, and words of wisdom as she begins this exciting new chapter. It was a wonderful reminder of the support and camaraderie that make our team so special.

Mary has worked hard to reach this milestone, and we are thrilled to have her as part of the Jacksonville team. We know she has a bright road ahead and are excited to see the impact she will make as she builds relationships, serves clients, and continues to grow professionally.

I was honored to attend the 2026 MCA Camp Lejeune Professional Dinner & Wounded Warrior Leadership Awards alongside Advisors Richie, Walt, John, Andrew, Christina, Todd, and Paul. The event brought together military leaders, community partners, and professionals from across the region to recognize leadership, service, and the resilience of our wounded warriors.

Hosted by the Marine Corps Association, the evening highlighted the importance of professional development within the Marine Corps while also honoring the Caregiver of the Year, Recovering Service Member of the Year, Civilian of the Year, and the Marines who support wounded warrior programs.

We were privileged to hear remarks from LtGen Robert C. Fulford, Commanding General of II Marine Expeditionary Force, whose insights reinforced the values of leadership, commitment, and service that continue to strengthen our military and local communities.

Thank you to the Marine Corps Association for continuing to invest in the development of Marines and for creating opportunities that connect military, business, and community leaders in meaningful ways.

It was an honor to attend the 2026 MCA Cherry Point Professional Dinner with Advisor Sam Furna and Zach Eubanks. The evening was a great opportunity to connect with Marines, community leaders, and professionals from across Eastern North Carolina while hearing insights from Lt. Gen. William J. Bowers, Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.

The Marine Corps Association does tremendous work supporting Marines through professional development, education, and leadership programs that help strengthen the Corps and the communities it serves.

I'm thankful for the opportunity to support an organization that invests in leadership and to spend time with so many dedicated individuals who continue to serve and make a difference.
