Exciting news! Fannie Mae has announced that 2-4 unit purchases only require a 5% down payment starting November 18th! Previously, a 15% down payment was required for 2 units and 3-4 units required 25%…sheesh!

Minimal upfront costs and you can start generating rental income as long as one of the units are owner occupied.

Pretty cool!

A helpful tip when purchasing a home:

Do NOT open any new accounts after you have been qualified for a mortgage loan and are currently under contract.

This action could immediately disqualify you for the loan as your debt to income ratio will increase, thus, rendering your loan approval invalid.
