Just finished meeting with the SIU for Frontline Insurance. The desk adjuter got her feeling hurt and thought it would be fun to try and make my client (Justen Ellis) life miserable by calling the Special Investigations Unit. Well that back fired. His report now has corrected the DAs false claims that the insured is still incurring ALE. (alternative living expenses) We never claimed that. Each incidence where Frontline mishandle the claim. From incorrect initial Coverage determination to a less than qualified desk adjuster who removed valid line items from the replacment Adjusters report ( despite being tasked with correcting the initial adjusters assment of the loss.)

My client has been stellar thru the process and I couldn’t be more thankful. SIU is now investigating the claims we have made against Frontline. You would hope this would mean something good but don’t fool yourself in my opinion that’s like asking a criminal to determinating his own punishment.

This is just one example of what it is like to adjust you own insurance claim in Florida.

Here is an excellent explanation of how your legislators took away your right to fair representation against your insurance company. Absolutely important to watch before you vote. Here in FL.

If you live in FL, call your broker tomorrow and ask them for “a copy of of your full home owners policy including a copy of all the forms and endorsements.” Try and get a digital copy. It should be between 60 and 100 pages. If it’s not they have only given you your renewal or declarations pages that’s not enough info. If you have an insurance claim you will need this next week and it will be impossible to get. I would consider printing it out too just in case the power is out and you need to show it to an adjuster. Please trust me on this.
