Thursday title tip: What is the option period in a Texas real estate contract? 📋

Texas contracts allow buyers to pay a small fee for an "option period" — typically 7–10 days — during which they can terminate for ANY reason and get their earnest money back.

This is the window for inspections, second thoughts, and renegotiation.

The option period ends. Title work continues. Attorney's Title in Jacksonville is running your search throughout. 🔍

The Tomato Bowl — Jacksonville's iconic 1940 WPA-built stadium — is made of red iron-ore stone and still stands as one of the most unique high school stadiums in Texas.

Monday: Tomato Fest week in Jacksonville! 🍅

Sunday title education: Why does closing take 30–45 days? ⏳

People sometimes wonder why a real estate closing can't happen in a week. Here's the short version:

📋 Title search: 3–10 business days minimum
🏦 Lender underwriting: 2–4 weeks
📐 Survey scheduling: 1–3 weeks out
📄 Curative work (if needed): variable

Each piece has its own timeline — and they often run in parallel. Attorney's Title in Jacksonville tracks all of it so nothing falls through the cracks. ✅

Saturday before Tomato Fest weekend, Jacksonville:

Fun fact: in the 1920s, nearly 15,000 acres of tomatoes were under cultivation in Cherokee County, and about 3,000 rail cars of tomatoes left Jacksonville every summer.

Today we don't ship tomatoes — we close real estate transactions.

Different product. Same Cherokee County hustle. 😄🍅

See you at Tomato Fest next Saturday, Jacksonville! Attorney's Title is proud of this town.
