Florida peeps, Iβm just getting home and wanted to get this out quickly. If youβve been slammed like me this week, you have done little to no hurricane prep. π€¦ββοΈ
Now is the time for us to prepare. Unfortunately, with the storm strengthening, none of us are really out of the cone of concern. There are projections showing that it could shift east and looks to be a Category 4 storm by the time it makes landfall tomorrow provided it doesnβt strengthen more. Itβs projected to hit somewhere in the Big Ben part of Florida. So it should be fairly manageable where we are. But better safe than sorry.
Here are some good tips as a friendly reminder:
Take a video of the interior and exterior of your house, including the garage and your vehicles.
Make sure youβve got full tanks of gas in your vehicles your grill and if youβre lucky enough to have a working generator.
Itβs always a good time to have some cash on hand in case credit card machines go down.
Ensure you have plenty of water, batteries for flashlights, non-perishable food for you and your furry friends.
Pick up any prescriptions.
If you have any laundry or dishes that need to be done now is the time to do them.
Gather any important documentation that you donβt have backed up or at an offsite location.
Make sure to charge all devices, including charging blocks in case we lose power.
Secure any loose items outside consider moving them indoors.
Donβt drive or walk through standing water if flooding occurs as there could be live wires down.
Never a bad idea to have some first aid stuff on hand.
Stay safe and remember those with their ducks in row get their claims typically handled much quicker!!!π₯°π
