Stay warm and stay safe! With freezing temperatures heading our way a little prep work now can save you a massive headache (and a claim) later. Here are four quick tips to get your home "winter-ready" before the deep freeze hits:
​💧 Let the Faucets Drip: Keep a tiny trickle of water running through your faucets—especially those on exterior walls. This keeps water moving and helps prevent pipes from bursting.
​🧤 Cover Outdoor Hydrants: Make sure your outdoor spigots are disconnected from hoses and covered with an insulated foam protector or a heavy towel.
​📍 Know Your Water Shut-Off: If a pipe does burst, every second counts. Make sure everyone in the house knows exactly where the main water shut-off valve is located.
​⚡ Check Your Power: If you have a generator, give it a quick test run now and make sure it’s fueled up and ready to go in case of a power outage.
