Effective July 1, 2024
If you are charged with an Aggravating Domestic Assault, you are now required to wear a monitoring device. If you make your bond you won’t be able to leave the jail without the device. Courts are not equipped with these devices as of NOW and don’t know when they will be equipped. Take a walk to cool off; because you don’t want these problems.

April 11, 2024 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jackson, Tennessee - Today, at approximately 9:35 AM, John McKenzie Williams, JR, 30, of Jackson Tennessee, was being held for processing at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex. Williams had just previously been arrested by court security on a Failure to Appear warrant out of Circuit Court. While Williams was in the booking area, a Correctional Officer was returning through an exterior and interior door, Williams was able to push the correctional officer and flee through that same exterior door.

The Correctional Officer pursued Williams on foot behind the Criminal Justice Complex but he managed to elude the officer. The Sheriff’s Office received further information that Williams may have gotten into a 1990’s model Ford Mustang, Blue in color, more described with a loud muffler, in the area of Sycamore Street, Jackson, Tennessee.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is currently utilizing all resources to locate and arrest John McKenzie Williams, Jr, who is now facing additional charges for assault and escape.

We are asking for your thoughts and prayers today as the Jackson Police Department mourns one of our own. Sergeant Warren Olden passed away this morning while on duty. We ask that you pray for his family and our JPD family as we begin to mourn and cope with this sudden loss. Sergeant Olden was a long-time member of the JPD family, serving with us since 1994. Rest in peace, Sergeant Olden.
