We love old houses. Much of our business is built around their renovation and restoration, or helping great neighbors buy and sell them. And there’s something special, unique about their quirkiness in a modern world:

1. Telephone books
2. Built-ins
3. Transom windows
4. Hoosier Cabinets
5. Clawfoot tubs

Is it possible to find these things in new builds or out in the suburbs? Sure, but it’s comparatively rare. What’s great about historic homes is these “quirks” were once features.

Telephone nooks speak to a time when we weren’t glued to pocket-sized computer screens. Abundant windows were a necessary feature, allowing for folks to maintain privacy while still letting in natural light and ventilation. And, what’s not functional about a Hoosier cabinet? It’s basically a mini kitchen workstation kitchen.

Happy two-year anniversary to LaTasha! Gosh, the turnaround on this one! Glad she’s cleaned up, fixed up, and looking pretty, but even happier that this old Belhaven house is back to doing she does best: giving folks a home. Cheers to our new neighbors on Hazel Street and a project completed. 🥂
