🔎 As scams continue to rise, good samaritans are equally vigilant in reporting fraud and sharing their experiences. It’s now easier to look up information about scams if you’re ever unsure.

Before you engage with the text, email, or phone call, investigate it for signs of a scam!

SCAM CHECK: LEGITIMATE OR NOT?

✅ Search the phone number or email address to see if other people have marked it as spam.

✅ Search part of the message in Google to see if other spammy messages appear verbatim.

✅ Search any organization that contacts you unexpectedly to see if they’re a scam. If they aren’t, verify their request through their official channels (phone number or email listed on their site).

Remember: Beginnings will never ask you for personal information over the phone or text unless you initiate contact through our official channels. When in doubt, hang up and contact Beginnings Credit Union directly using a trusted phone number.

We kicked off the Z95.5 Beginnings Backpack Drop yesterday at Beginnings Credit Union, and we’re keeping the school-supply fun going today! 🎒📚

Recently, the Beginnings Team raised $6,000 by competing in the 2nd Annual Mini-Golf Tournament benefiting the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention - Greater Central NY Chapter!

We dressed in costumes and putted our way through, all for a good cause, of course!

…And that’s a wrap on this year’s Main Street Live Cortland Concert Series! 👏

A big thank you to the amazing bands who performed throughout July, our partners at Experience Cortland: Cortland County Tourism, the artists and sponsors who made the event possible.

Proceeds from the concert series will go toward the Cortland Prevention Resources: A Division of Family Counseling Services.
