A mammogram is a special type of X-ray that takes images of breast tissue. It is an important breast cancer screening tool that can help find cancer early, sometimes before there are signs or symptoms.

For women at average risk, mammogram screening generally begins at age 40, but when and how often you should be screened can depend on your age, health history and other risk factors.

Talk with your health care provider about the screening schedule that’s right for you. Finding breast cancer early can lead to more treatment options and better outcomes.

Good dental health is more than just a bright smile; it’s an important part of your overall health.

Poor dental hygiene can cause a buildup of harmful bacteria in your mouth, which can lead to issues like cavities and tooth decay, and increase your risk of heart disease, respiratory infections and other serious health conditions.

This National Dental Hygiene Month, remember to practice healthy habits and take care of your mouth!

Health is more than what happens in a doctor’s office. For generations, Indigenous communities have recognized the connections between physical health, emotional well-being, family, community, culture and the land.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Molina Healthcare recognize the traditions and knowledge that have supported the well-being of Indigenous peoples for generations. We also recognize the importance of preserving cultural practices and ensuring that health care respects the values, experiences and traditions of the people it serves.

In September, Molina Healthcare of Texas’ Moms’ Club came together to celebrate the traditions, stories and experiences that make each family unique.

Moms shared meaningful traditions from their own families, learned about one another’s cultures and celebrated the diversity within their community. These conversations created an opportunity to connect, learn from each other and recognize the traditions that help shape who we are.

We’re proud to provide a space where moms can build connections, share experiences and celebrate what makes every family special.

Do you know what eczema is?

Eczema is a common skin condition that can cause dry, itchy and bumpy skin. It can affect people of all ages, and symptoms may come and go during periods called “flare-ups.” Certain allergens and irritants can sometimes trigger or worsen symptoms.

While there’s no cure for eczema, there are ways to help treat and manage symptoms. Talk with your health care provider if you often experience dry, itchy or irritated skin.

Ovarian cancer may not cause noticeable symptoms, especially in its early stages. That’s why it’s important to know the signs and pay attention to changes in your body.

Possible symptoms may include:
• Bloating or swelling in the abdomen
• Pelvic or back pain
• Feeling full quickly when eating
• Changes in bowel habits or needing to urinate more often
• Unexplained weight loss or fatigue

You know your body best. Talk to your doctor if you notice changes that are unusual for you or don’t go away.
