Goal: normalize having these conversations SOONER. If you don’t “feel” like you’re ready to start planning for your future financially — that may be a sign of resistance and/or scarcity — and my invitation to you is to just take the first step: Have an honest conversation with a professional. I can almost guarantee you’ll leave that conversation feeling lighter and empowered with more knowledge and clarity. Maybe even excited about what’s possible for your future.

My team and I focus much of our work on helping people who are self-employed, entrepreneurs and business owners — because it has been my own reality for 20 years, and I recognize what I wish I had learned early on. This trajectory is not linear. The needs are varied and unique. But what’s possible with proper planning is EXCITING! A conversation costs nothing. 🤍

169 years of history rich with stories like this. A mutual company, who does the right thing… that places the best interests of its clients ahead of its own. There is even more to this story… and countless others which demonstrate the principled values and integrity which are deeply embedded in our foundation and permeating through every thought, decision and conversation we engage in.

My dear, sweet beloved Spider — Happy Heavenly Gotcha Day. 15 years ago today, I was blessed with the gift of your companionship. ❤️ 

You are SO so loved, and deeply missed. 
Almost 15 years we got to be with you. So many gifts, so many blessings, so many sweet moments I will cherish forever. I miss you every single day. We experienced so much life together. You were there for me through so much. You were the best companion I could have ever hoped for. You were a once in a lifetime, unbelievably special dog. It was a great privilege and joy of my life to be your mom and I’m so grateful that you chose me. You were loved by everyone who met you. You brought smiles, comfort and joy to so many. 
One of my favorite memories is when we both got to experience Joshua Tree for the first time ever, just the two of us. It was February 2020. And now there is a piece of you there, in one of your favorite spots inside the park. I hope you love it there. 
Sometimes, I still can’t believe you’re gone. 
I miss everything about you and our life together.

I can tell you first hand — all the ways in which I avoided thinking about possible future consequences. All the ways in which my choices and actions did not align with the future I said that I wanted. All the ways in which I chose comfort “now, in this moment,” because those thoughts and hard conversations were uncomfortable, or scary.

I chose to avoid responsibility, accountability, sacrificing some comfort now for a better future — the future I truly wanted.

And guess what… the consequences showed up anyway.
And devastated me.
Not only did I prevent myself from being prepared to face them by being avoidant instead of considerate… I found myself in a place that was beyond repair once those irresponsible choices caught up with me.

Not just financially.
Personally.
Emotionally.
Relationally.

My experience changed how I think about preparation.

Planning isn’t about predicting disaster.
Avoiding things out of fear is the real disaster.
Thinking about possible outcomes that might scare you isn’t calling it in.
It’s an opportunity to get clarity on what you truly want, and to align your choices of today with that future you want.
Hard conversations today can be uncomfortable, but they can also create a real, solid foundation that won’t crack or crumble when something unpredictable occurs.

My goal is to help others avoid hardships similar to what I’ve experienced. To pause long enough to consider that alignment — thoughtfully, intentionally, and without fear. To align today’s actions with the future you say you want. To be a guide who can support you in building a secure & prosperous future, filled with abundance and joy ❤️
