The LA wildfires have been devastating, and I know so many of you are feeling overwhelmed right now, there’s help available! These resources can guide you through insurance claims, financial assistance, and disaster recovery.
1. Insurance Help – Insurance.ca.govCalifornia Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara has issued a 1-year moratorium that protects wildfire-affected homeowners from having their insurance policies canceled or non-renewed. This gives you time to focus on recovery without worrying about losing your coverage. You can also find tips on filing claims and your rights as a homeowner on their website.
2. SBA Disaster Loans – Sba.gov/disasterFor homeowners, renters, and business owners, the SBA offers low-interest disaster loans to cover repairs, personal property, or business damages. If you need financial help to rebuild or recover, this is a great place to start.
3. FEMA Assistance – Fema.govFEMA provides grants for temporary housing, home repairs, and other emergency needs not covered by insurance. You can register for disaster assistance and learn what support you qualify for on their site.
To everyone in LA, you’re not alone in this. I see you, I feel for you, and I’m here to share resources to help you move forward. Please visit these links, reach out for help, and share this message with others who might need it💛
