As you may know, it’s almost time for Medicare’s annual enrollment period (AEP), a key opportunity to alter your Medicare health and prescription drug plans for the upcoming year. The Medicare AEP runs from October 15th to December 7th every year, making now a potentially advantageous time to review your current coverage and plan ahead for any changes next year.

Thinking about this now, before the period opens, can make the process easier and give you enough time to compare options and make an informed decision about your care. Swipe for a few areas to revisit as you prepare for the beginning of the AEP.

AEP is around the corner, which means Medicare mail will likely start showing up soon.

You may begin receiving notices about plan updates, premiums, prescription coverage, provider networks, or benefits for the upcoming year. The challenge is that not every piece of Medicare mail requires action, and it is not always obvious which notices are important.

My advice? Hold on to any Medicare-related mail until you have had a chance to review it more closely.
