Championing greatness depends on the partners behind you.

For organizations, that means selecting qualified vendors, clearly defining contractual responsibilities, reviewing certificates of insurance and coordinating third-party services before work begins. These standards should also apply to subcontractors and remain in force through load-out.

Every partnership can strengthen, or weaken, operational readiness.

Our latest article explores how vendor due diligence, contractual risk transfer and ongoing accountability can help organizations reduce uncertainty, clarify responsibility and protect what they have built.

Greatness is built by people whose experience helps others move forward.

Today, we’re recognizing Linda Shin, whose work in Real Estate & Hospitality helps clients navigate complexity and prepare for what lies ahead.

Linda was nominated for her dependable leadership, proactive client service and commitment to helping colleagues grow, reflecting readiness in action.

When asked what advice she would give organizations looking to better prepare for risk, Linda shared:
“My advice for managing organizational risk is to identify the ‘center of gravity’ for success: the critical factors that drive the desired outcome. Once those dependencies are clear, prioritize resources and attention to strengthen and sustain them.”

She also reflected on a career lesson that continues to guide her work:
“The most impactful lesson that has shaped the way I work is to put my teammates first. By prioritizing their needs and success, we build trust, strengthen collaboration and achieve better outcomes together.”

Thank you, Linda, for sharing your perspective and using your experience to support our clients and colleagues. Your work helps others approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Strong risk strategies begin with people who know how to turn insight into action.

This week, we're highlighting John Kearns, Alliant Transportation, whose expertise in transportation safety and risk helps organizations better understand their exposures and prepare for evolving challenges.

John was nominated for his tireless work driving business growth and representing Alliant across the transportation industry, reflecting resilience in action.

His advice for organizations looking to strengthen their approach to risk is:
“Build a culture before you build a program. People are every organization's greatest strength and investing in them is one of the most meaningful investments an organization can make. Policies, technology and compliance are important, but their effectiveness is strengthened when people genuinely care about one another and feel empowered to speak up, learn and improve. The most resilient organizations prepare for challenges by investing in their people and making safety, accountability and trust part of everyday decision-making. When people thrive, organizations thrive.”

When asked about a lesson that has shaped the way he works today, John shared:
“The greatest lesson I've learned is that leadership is not defined by a title. It is earned through service, character and the trust you build with others. The most meaningful impact comes from listening first, understanding people's challenges and helping them succeed. Technical knowledge may open the door, but empathy, integrity and a genuine commitment to serving others are what earn trust and inspire lasting change.”

Thank you, John, for helping clients move from uncertainty to informed action. Your expertise and dedication continue to make a meaningful difference.

Weather can change the course of a match. For organizations, it can change the course of operations.

Severe storms, extreme heat, high winds and rapidly changing conditions can affect people, property, critical equipment, vendor coordination and business continuity.

Readiness requires more than monitoring the forecast. It means establishing clear decision authority, defining response triggers, coordinating with trusted partners, testing emergency communications and preparing contingency plans before the decision window narrows.

Championing greatness means preparing teams to make clear decisions before changing conditions put safety and continuity at risk.

Our latest article explores practical strategies organizations can use to strengthen weather preparedness, support operational resilience and make informed decisions when the forecast creates uncertainty.

Greatness is built by people who help others prepare for what comes next.

Today, we’re recognizing Lainie Dorneker, Alliant Healthcare, whose work helps clients anticipate challenges, strengthen their risk strategies and make informed decisions with confidence.

Lainie was nominated for her collaborative spirit, reliability and commitment to delivering exceptional results—reflecting Readiness in action.

When asked about a lesson that has shaped the way she works today, Lainie shared:
“Show up fully and be curious, prepared and accountable. The most valuable opportunities often begin with asking questions and being willing to admit what you do not know. Expertise does not mean knowing everything. It means doing the work, continuing to learn and recognizing when to turn to others for the right advice. Most importantly, I’ve learned to follow through so people know they can count on me.”

She also offered this advice for organizations looking to better prepare for risk:
“Start early and treat risk management as an ongoing strategic discipline rather than an annual insurance renewal exercise. Bring together people from across the organization, share data and concerns candidly, challenge familiar assumptions and examine risk through different lenses. Insurance is important, but the strongest results come from truly understanding your exposures and building trusted internal and external partnerships before a problem arises.”

Thank you, Lainie, for the insight, partnership and commitment you bring to our clients and colleagues. Your work reflects what it means to champion greatness every day.

Yesterday brought another exciting day of competition in New York as opening week continued.

We were proud to see Kateřina Siniaková and Lloyd Glasspool wear the Alliant patch during their respective Mixed Doubles Round 1 matches and wish all players continued success.

Congratulations to Kateřina Siniaková and Henry Patten on their win over Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic. Kateřina went on to compete in the quarterfinals, where we were proud to continue our support.

Lloyd Glasspool and partner Erin Routliffe faced Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz with determination and professionalism, staying connected through every shift in momentum.

An unforgettable start to this year's tournament.

At a major event, one compromised system can interrupt digital ticketing, payments, access control, communications and vendor coordination. The impact can extend well beyond the network, affecting revenue, attendee trust and business continuity.

Readiness requires more than security technology. It depends on trained people, vetted vendors, current software, clear verification procedures and tested response plans that help teams act quickly when conditions change.

Championing greatness means making sure the people, partners and systems behind the moment are ready to perform under pressure.

The right time to identify these dependencies is before the gates open, not after an incident begins.
Which exposure do you think organizations underestimate most?
