Do you know what a “Purple Star School” is?

A Purple Star School is a public or charter school recognized for its significant commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. Military children typically move every 2-3 years. This program is designed to help schools respond to the educational and social-emotional challenges military-connected children face during their transition to a new school. Military-connected refers to children of service members on active duty, and in the National Guard and Reserves. 💜

I completely know this struggle for a child, as we moved every 2-3 years when I was growing up. While Purple Star Schools didn’t exist back then, they do now! We have a number of schools in our area on the list. Please support these schools and promote other schools to join the list too.

Wishing you a meaningful Memorial Day weekend. As we enjoy time with family, friends, cookouts, and an extra day off work, Memorial Day is really about remembering the men and women of the U.S. military who gave their lives in service to our country. It’s a day of honor, gratitude, and reflection for the freedoms we often take for granted. So enjoy the long weekend, wave the flag proudly, hug the people you love, and take a moment to remember the heroes who never made it home. Freedom isn’t free — and Memorial Day reminds us exactly why. ❤😇🇺🇸

REALTORS & VETERANS — BIG VA LOAN UPDATE!

Started May 1st, the VA is easing appraisal requirements:

*Peeling paint on homes built 1978 or after, should be seen as cosmetic (not requiring to me repaired) – This is a BIG one!
*Non-vented Heaters & Fireplaces no longer need the oxygen depletion sensor certifications done
*No more Radon test certificates required (This applied to new construction builder properties mostly)
*Sheds excluded (Disconnected outbuildings evaluated on a case-by-case basis now)
