Congratulations Jessica Djurkowitsch! I’m so very proud of you.

I am very honored to be this year’s recipient of the 2020 Colonel Marcella A. Nipps Nursing Scholarship, marking the 20th anniversary of this award.

Each year a recipient is chosen on the basis of strong work ethic both scholastically and in everyday life. I am very humbled to know that my dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

Marcella was a 1969 graduate of Mount Marty College. After graduation she spent 29 respected years serving as a member of the U.S Army Nurse Corp where some of her achievements were made overseas in Vietnam and Germany. She retired November of 1977 and is recognized at the Women’s Military Memorial in Arlington.

Again, thank you to Gerry Likness and her family for honoring me as this year’s recipient!
