I'm often asked what I do. It always depends on who I am working with. One of the best parts of my job is I get to help people. When you help someone you get to know them and where they are at. For younger people I often start with budgeting and saving for emergency funds. For people my age (NOT OLD YET), it's often looking at things like long term care or realignment for retirement. For retire-ees it is often helping people live the way they want without running out of money. No matter what your age, income, or stage in life, having someone work with you one on one to help you reach your goals is helpful. So, that's what I do. Changing jobs can be one of the most exciting moments in a person's life. Chasing your dreams, making more money, getting the opportunity to do what you've always wanted; that can be great! However, it can also come with some pitfalls and fears. Did your insurance change? How are benefits different? What about my retirement?

When you change jobs, what should you do with your retirement (i.e. 401K, Simple IRA, SEP, 403B)? One option is to roll it over into an IRA at one location with one company who you have a one on one relationship with. Having multiple retirement accounts with multiple companies can be burdensome at best in retirement, very difficult to manage at worst. As we get into the new you I like to remind my family, friends and clients as a service to all of you, if you have family or friends that need help or have questions, I will make time to meet with them because it's the right thing to do. They do not need to become a client and I will make sure I am able to give them guidance or get them to the right resource to help with their questions or concerns. That is why I do what I do.

So, I've never been a big one for resolutions per se, however, I usually have a couple things I want to improve on each year. This year my daughter came up with a Bingo card for her resolutions. I took this and ra n with it and wanted to share how I started it. Feel free to steal this if it looks like something that could help you.
