AutonomousLA was inspired by the groundbreaking work of BLD PWR and their liberation focused work challenging and opposing systemic harms. Technology has historically been leveraged against BIPOC communities but when incorporated in our own innovations possesses the force to create solutions for climate response, environmental justice, community action and safety.

This series was created as an Impact and Design Initiative to support the next generation of technical innovation as a tool to overcome systemic forces of oppression, environmental harm, and biases embedded in emerging technology.

By hosting community conversation and design driven hackathons, we seek to enable intersection of critical functions of the local ecosystem e.g. designers, technologists, activists, investors, big thinkers, and community members who are bullish about real change.

Apple plans its largest smartwatch display to date, with a bigger battery and a rugged metal casing, as part of the upcoming series aimed at extreme-sports athletes.

It's also planning new fitness features to show off on the new version, which will have 7% more screen area than the largest current Apple Watch. The details — and two other watch models — are expected to be announced later this year.

7th Street was home to social movements, artistry, iconic jazz, recording arts and architecture. In this new era our focus is to bring those things forward along with business building, technology, and technical ingenuity. The most successful technology companies were funded not far from Stanford on Sandhill Rd, which gave the importance of sowing seeds into groundbreaking innovation a specific geography. 7th street is no different in its history and as we look out into the future will be home to these features and more successful black artist-led ventures.

We look back on our time in 2021 visiting Tulsa and immersing our team in the story of community and entrepreneurship the Greenwood Community respresents today despite the events that occured in 1921. We are thankful for the invitation we received and over 150 entrepreneurs who joined us there at such short notice. It was certainly a highlight to our work over these past several years.

Maserati will make an electric version of all of its models by 2025, CEO Davide Grasso told reporters during a conference call on March 17.

The company also plans to phase out all of its internal combustion engine vehicles by 2030, Grasso said, although he declined to give a firm deadline. “That’s the landing spot,” he said. “The consumer decides.”

“As of today, the plan is to offer only BEVs [battery electric vehicles] by 2030,” a spokesperson confirmed in a follow-up email. Executives participating in the call described the new electric models as part of a range called Maserati Folgore.

With a new range of residential communities, Disney says it is moving beyond “storytelling” and into “storyliving.”

The Burbank, California-based theme-park and entertainment company announced Wednesday that it plans to develop a string of such real estate projects around the country, beginning in Rancho Mirage, California.

The new residential development business will be called “Storyliving by Disney,” the company said. Plans are underway for the first project in the desert community, which is near where company founder Walt Disney once owned a home. Additional locations in the U.S. are also being explored, too.(Via Bloomberg)
