THE IMPORTANCE AND IMPACT OF THE INDIANOLA COMMUNITY & SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER

An independent 501C3 charitable organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with a mission of providing a Community facility, services and programs to the Community. A primary program of the Center is providing daily meals both on-site and delivery to the area’s ill and homebound.

The Center’s annual Operating budget is close to $35,000 annually, including utilities, insurance, food-program costs, staffing, and maintenance. We are blessed to partner with: individual and organizational donors, the Kiamichi Economic Development District, Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Pittsburg County, Town of Indianola, area churches and others, along with our annual event fundraising to accomplish our budget needs.

We are also underway with a 50th Anniversary (2028) Center Capital and Endowment campaign with an objective of $200,000. The plan with this campaign is to raise the money to completely remodel the Center and to put some money away for the future before the 2028 50th Anniversary of the Indianola Center. (30% of the way there!)

Center’s Impact during 2025:
• Approximately 7,100 meals to the area’s on-site, ill and homebound at the Indianola Center. (The Center provides daily meals-on-site 11:00 a.m.-12 noon and daily delivery to the area’s ill and homebound.)
• At any given time, the Center has clients both on regular home health and hospice. The Center’s daily meals and volunteers are a vital part of the team assisting the homebound. In some cases, the Center’s volunteer delivery team is the clients only daily contact from someone outside the home.
• The Center does its very best to provide regular programs and activities in support of the Community- regular health services and programs with area home-health organizations, including on-site vaccinations.
• The Center is the home throughout the year for many regular meetings family gatherings (both family celebrations and family mournings)
• The Center is the Community headquarters for both Thanksgiving and Christmas community gatherings, including the Center’s Annual Christmas Angel Tree.
• The Center houses the Community Blessings Box- a small food pantry for individuals in need.

This report is also our 2026 Annual Appeal!
Your annual Operating, Capital, and Endowment support is needed and very much appreciated.
