August is usually considered a weak month for stocks. This year, the S&P 500 is up about 3% with one trading day left.

That matters, because when August was positive and stocks were already up 10% to 17.5% for the year, the final four months gained in 10 of 11 past instances.

It’s a small historical sample, not a forecast. But it’s one reason September’s bad reputation may not tell the whole story this year.

Fear on Wall Street, Resilience on Main Street

Stocks reached new highs last week.

You might not guess that from how investors are feeling.

Bears have outnumbered bulls for four straight weeks, and retail investors recently sold at one of the fastest clips on record.

See why all that caution may be worth paying attention to: https://www.wealthcare.us/insights/blog/market-commentary-uncertainty-on-wall-street-resilience-on-main-street/

Estate planning often begins with a few important questions.

Who do you trust to make decisions for you if you can’t? What do you want your plan to say? And if you already have a plan, does it still fit your life as it is now?

In this on-demand session, we’ll cover:

• The questions an estate plan can answer
• How taxes may affect what you leave behind
• When it may be time to put a plan in place or review the one you have

See how those questions come together in the full session: https://www.wealthcare.us/insights/blog/safeguarding-what-matters-most-estate-planning-for-families/

July’s jobs report looked weak at first glance.

Payrolls fell by 23,000 and prior months were revised lower. But unemployment also fell to 4.1%, prime-age employment remained high, and layoffs stayed unusually low.

Hiring has slowed. The broader labor picture, though, may be more stable than the headline suggests.

See why the latest jobs report may be telling two different stories: https://www.wealthcare.us/insights/blog/market-commentary-back-to-your-regularly-scheduled-bull-market-even-as-payrolls-wobble/

Trying to understand the difference between a Trump Account and a 529 plan? They might sound alike, but they’re meant for different goals.

A 529 is focused on education. A Trump Account lets families begin investing for a child early, and once the child reaches adulthood, it becomes a retirement account.

See what sets the two apart and how each may fit into a longer-term savings plan:

You’ve probably heard of Trump Accounts—the new tax-advantaged savings and investment tool for minors. Established under Section 530A of the tax code,
