One of the first financial decisions I made for my daughter was purchasing a whole life insurance policy for her.

Like most parents, I spend a lot of time thinking about how I can give her a head start in life. We save for today, plan for tomorrow, and hope to make things a little easier for her down the road.

One thing I liked about this policy is that because she got it at such a young age, the cost is much lower than it would be later in life. It also builds cash value over time and includes a Guaranteed Insurability Rider, which means she will have opportunities in the future to increase her coverage without having to prove she's healthy or take a medical exam.

When she's older, whether that's when she turns 18 or after college. I can transfer ownership to her, and she'll already have a policy in place that can continue growing with her through different stages of life.

For me, this wasn't just about life insurance. It was about creating another piece of her financial foundation and leaving behind something that could potentially benefit not only her, but future generations of our family as well.

As a dad, it gives me peace of mind knowing I took a step today that could help her years from now.

One thing I want to do as an insurance agent is help educate people.

Looking back, I knew almost nothing about insurance. It was just something I knew I needed in order to drive a car or own a home. I had never really talked with my agent, and I had NO idea what I was actually paying for.

As a former teacher, I took this job while still holding onto that passion for helping others, just in a different way. Insurance can be confusing, and most people aren't taught what coverages mean, what questions to ask, or how to make sure they're properly protected.

That's where I hope to help. I'll be sharing weekly tips, educational posts, and personal stories.
