🎙️ TITLE TALK INDIANA: DEMYSTIFYING PROPERTY TAXES
📍 Part 2 of 4: Understanding the Indiana Tax Lag
Last week we covered what "in arrears" means. Today, let’s look at how the timeline actually works on the calendar! 🗓️
Taxes paid in 2026 cover the time a homeowner actually lived in the home back in 2025.
Because of this 1-year delay: 🔹 The seller almost always owes the buyer a credit at closing for the days they occupied the home.
🔹 The buyer collects that credit to cover the official bill when it eventually arrives from the county.
