The opening session of challenged attendees to think differently about the future of our industry.
During his keynote, Neil Alldredge acknowledged the realities facing insurers today: catastrophe losses, affordability pressures, litigation challenges, regulatory uncertainty, and rapid technological change. But his message focused on perspective. 
"From the ground, a mountain can look like a wall. From its peak, our perspective explodes, and we can see our way forward." 
Neil emphasized that mutual insurers have always adapted to change by staying focused on what matters most: policyholders, communities, and long-term stability. He highlighted NAMIC's advocacy achievements, growing influence in public policy conversations, and the opportunities presented by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. 
Perhaps the most important takeaway was that challenges and opportunities can exist simultaneously.
"Our best years are only behind us if we stop building what comes next." 
As attendees begin this year's convention, the message is clear: mutual insurers are not standing still. They are adapting, innovating, advocating, and continuing to serve policyholders when they need them most.
