March 30th, 2026.
Today is Day 1 of taking a statin due to my cholesterol.
I have surrendered and I have raised the white flag.
After 9 years of trying every damn diet, pill, drink, potion and magical elixir, I have given in.
I will post my numbers, but my diet for the last 90 days was so damn intense that there is no way that my LDL came down as teenie tiny as it did.
My #1 issue is my calcium score. Almost 4 years ago, it was 799 (Google that btw). That coupled with my damn LDL not coming down as much as it has in the past made me cave in.
In the end, screw it. My diet is super solid, my exercise is my exercise (I workout 5 to 7 days a week) and everything else is in line. Actually, this is some of the best that I have done as far as diet and exercise goes, but I could not fight off my LDL numbers coupled with my calcium score any longer.
I'm not going to start eating pizza and cake every day now that I am taking statins, but I will see what happens to my numbers doing this and I will keep everyone posted!!!
Thanks for all of the advice and comments and opinions which people are always kind enough to give when I do these posts, but in the end, if anything I post can help someone out there, than we all win for sure.
Get your LDL fractionated. Get your cholesterol checked. Tighten down your diet, strengthen up your exercise and pay attention. All of this stuff matters.
