Get the cannons ready baby!!

We are hiring for processors and underwriters!!

I have not thrown that out there for 4 years now.

If anyone in my network knows any processors and/or underwriters who would love to work for the greatest mortgage lender in the country, the hemisphere, the world, the universe and the anti-universe (I wanted to make sure that I covered all of my bases), then have them call me or message me.

We lend in 47 states, we are battle tested and look the hell out because we are about to start growing and kicking some ass.

March 30th, 2026.

Today is Day 1 of taking a statin due to my cholesterol.

I have surrendered and I have raised the white flag.

After 9 years of trying every damn diet, pill, drink, potion and magical elixir, I have given in.

I will post my numbers, but my diet for the last 90 days was so damn intense that there is no way that my LDL came down as teenie tiny as it did.

My #1 issue is my calcium score. Almost 4 years ago, it was 799 (Google that btw). That coupled with my damn LDL not coming down as much as it has in the past made me cave in.

In the end, screw it. My diet is super solid, my exercise is my exercise (I workout 5 to 7 days a week) and everything else is in line. Actually, this is some of the best that I have done as far as diet and exercise goes, but I could not fight off my LDL numbers coupled with my calcium score any longer.

I'm not going to start eating pizza and cake every day now that I am taking statins, but I will see what happens to my numbers doing this and I will keep everyone posted!!!

Thanks for all of the advice and comments and opinions which people are always kind enough to give when I do these posts, but in the end, if anything I post can help someone out there, than we all win for sure.

Get your LDL fractionated. Get your cholesterol checked. Tighten down your diet, strengthen up your exercise and pay attention. All of this stuff matters.

"Call Me First".

I love this book. It's really cool.

I was scrolling Facebook and I saw a post on someone (Damian Lewis, the author) in which it said that he could not get his book published, so he started posting it on social media, so I bought a copy.

It explains why you should be the reason that people call you first when they are in need.

He did a great job, he has a new fan and I am waiting on his next book!!

Read on my friends!!

"When the time to perform has come, the time to prepare has passed."

I read that in a book recently and simply loved it. It says so much in such a short sentence.

In wrestling, we drill and drill and drill and drill and drill. Why? Because we try to get all of our moves and movements down to a level where it is simply a natural reaction so that when our opponent does something, we simply react.

I constantly tell my salespeople to practice having conversations, get in high repetitions of the same action over and over and over and constantly think of counters (or rebuttals) to every single move that we make and then to counter those counters.

If you work by yourself in sales, who do you practice with? Who do you practice on? What do you practice? How many reps do you get in?

In wrestling, we have a partner and sometimes we drill the same move hundreds of times in one practice. Sometimes it is slow and methodical and sometimes you just hammer out a ton of reps.

All of that practice is for one purpose -- When the time to perform has come, the time to prepare has passed.

When a customer is sitting in front of you, the time to practice and prepare is gone. How many at-bats do you really get per day? One? Two? Five? You better be ready when that moment comes and this is why we practice, practice and practice more.

Whether it is athletics or business. It does not matter. Get in the reps. I am always available for anyone who needs a drilling partner (my cell is 1-216-780-1103).

Btw, this is one more reason why reading books is so good.

"The Fighters Mind".

This is a very good book since it dives into the mind of athletes who have executed at the highest level of their sports (plus two of my friends are in it (Kyle Klingman and Randy Couture)).

What were the best messages that I took from this book — "Discipline beats motivation", “Confidence comes from preparation" and "Focus under pressure is everything".

Read those 3 messages above and you can guess the rest (even though I still recommend getting the book).

My next book is "The 2% Way by Myron Rolle" (any dude who plays professional sports and becomes a brain surgeon is on my reading list!!).

Read books!! That's all.

"Discipline Is Destiny".

These are my favorite types of books. Books that give very specific pointers on things that we should focus on in order to strengthen our resolve.

Having said that, I would give his book a 3.5 star rating sort of?? It was a good book, but not one that I would want to read again?

I loved some of the points that it made, but it was not as organized in thought as I would have liked. An interesting one was that the body trains the mind. Sometimes when your mind does not feel like training, have your body push your mind. It's an interesting thought for sure and the opposite of everything that I typically think of.

Make time to read (not that I did not say to "find" time to read). Make the time. You will thank yourself (or possibly even me, lol).

Reading is a big deal.

On to my next book!!

"Business Made Simple".

This is a good book. I cannot say that I would highly recommend it versus many other books which I have read, but it's not bad??

The book covered a lot of the traits of what it takes to run, be or have a successful business. It covered communication, managing others (which is huge) and basic sales and negotiation skills.

The book firmed up basic principles which I have read many times and it never gets old.

My next book up is "Discipline Is Destiny" by Ryan Holiday. (Any book on how to be more disciplined and consistent, I am reading).

Read 1 page of a book every single day and watch what happens. I used to hate reading and now I cannot stop.

"The Great Cholesterol Myth".

This is a great book. It does not tell you what you think based on the title.

Cholesterol is a good thing actually.

For those who have followed me for long enough, you know that I post all the time about my battle with my cholesterol.

I treat myself like a lab rat and tinker with my diet constantly to see how it affects my numbers. It's been a 9 year battle, but I might be caving in soon and taking statins. I have tried everything else for 9 years, and I am trying a few final things and then we shall see. This book helped me understand it even more than I already do and I highly recommend it for those who want to learn more.

Btw, if you don't read, READ!! It's a big deal.

"One And Done" written by Maurice Clarett.

If you are an Ohio State Buckeye fan and watched them beat Miami in the 2002 National Championship Game and followed Maurice Clarett at that time, this is a great book.

I always talk about taking sports and carrying it over to life after sports and after reading this book, he has done a very good job of doing that.

I definitely liked this book and I loved it even more since it was from one of my favorite Buckeyes who helped beat M*chigan and bring home a title.

With 2026 just ahead, make sure that reading books is on your list of how to be better than you were in 2025 and put this book on that list.

Part of being successful includes basic principles learned in sports to the gridiron of life.

Reading is a big deal.
