Not only was yesterday the start of a new month, but it marked the beginning of our summer internship program. We're so excited to welcome Sydney King to the Fairway team!

A senior at Miami University, Sydney is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance while working toward a combined Master of Business Administration (MBA). During her internship, she will assist with a variety of projects, gaining insight into the financial planning profession.

She'll also see firsthand how our team supports clients through a relationship-driven approach. At Fairway, we believe being a Personal CFO means more than managing investments. It's about helping individuals and families navigate the financial decisions that come with every stage of life. We're excited to share that perspective with Sydney throughout her internship.

Inflation-proofing your portfolio is top of mind for investors.

Matt, Director of Investment Research, recently shared his thoughts with CNN's John Towfighi on strategies investors can use to protect their wealth in an inflationary environment, including Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS).

"It’s a government security, so very high-quality fixed income," he said. "And then the inflation-protected piece is a cherry on top."

On Monday, our team stepped out of the office and onto the field for our annual off-site firm meeting, this year at Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Guardians.

We began the day hearing from our longest-tenured employees, Matt, Laura, and Maria, who are all celebrating 20 years at Fairway this year. It was great hearing about the early days of the firm and reflecting on how much has changed over the years.

Mark then shared a “State of the Firm” update, highlighting the growth we’ve experienced over the past three years (both in clients served and team expansion), as well as a vision for where we want to go in the next three years and beyond. Throughout the afternoon, team leaders provided updates on the work and initiatives happening across the firm. It was exciting to see the progress and changes that have taken place since last year’s meeting.

We wrapped up the day hearing from two current clients and former executives of the Cleveland Guardians. Both shared stories of humble beginnings, hard work, and leadership lessons which helped grow the Guardians organization into what it is today.

After the first pitch, a few special guests made an appearance, Slider, and the Hot Dog Racing mascots! Even better, the Guardians capped off the evening with a win.
