Known: Crop hail rates will be going up to get in line with NCIS ratings.
Unknown: Timetable of rate increases.
We'll know 2019 crop hail rates by the end of January, but plan on penciling higher crop hail expense in 2019.

With few changes to farm programs expected, producers will need to reevaluate ARC election. Based on lower commodity prices, I'd expect to see a substantial move towards PLC.

Congress will need to pass a new Farm Bill or an extension of the 2014 bill. This week’s post considers the current prices and ARC & PLC programs.
