A pier located a mile from US and Mexico border. On a Monday where the tourist crowds are almost none, almost everyone on this beautiful pier were locals. Most who were fishing here were not enjoying a Monday afternoon recreation but rather catching their dinners.
Southern California beach piers are notoriously known for sunset marvels surrounded by luxurious homes with million dollar views. Why it is different here despite being in Southern California? Is it because this is a border city?
Even a beautiful white sand beach couldn’t bring equity to the neighborhood? Why poverty seems obvious here? We are on a mission! Change starts from around us.
