Local 4-H and FFA Members Compete in the County American Farmers and Ranchers Speech Contest.
On November 10th, at Haworth High School, 22 McCurtain County 4-H and FFA Members competed at the County AFR Speech contest. This contest is open to all county students and serves as a great primer for those who will be competing in the District and State AFR Speech contests, to be held later this month.
The students are tasked with each preparing and memorizing a speech of 4-8 minutes on a chosen agricultural topic. These students will compete in the District Contest, scheduled for November 13, 2025, at the Eastern Oklahoma State College campus in Wilburton, OK. Students who place 1st or 2nd at the district level qualify for the State contest, which will be held on December 6, 2025, in Stillwater, OK, at the Oklahoma State University Campus.
