As the school year begins, make safety a priority. Whether your child walks the city streets to get to school or waits for the bus in the county, remind them to stay alert and pay attention to their surroundings.

Drivers: SLOW DOWN, stay alert, and look twice at all intersections and crosswalks for children. Split-second decisions by children and drivers can have life-changing effects.

Make it your goal to keep our children safe.

While the mercury keeps rising, don’t forget the essentials: Stay hydrated with lots of water. Try to stay in a cool place. Wear a hat & use sunscreen if you have to be outside in the sun. Most important—if it’s too hot for you outside, it’s too hot for your pets & kids to be outside. Please keep them inside and cool. Only let them outside for short periods at a time.
